It’s School Choice Season
It’s school choice time for the 2017-18 school years! Families are invited to explore their school choice options, including their neighborhood school, through this season’s events and activities. Please click here for more information.

An Invitation for all Yujin Gakuen Families
A special presentation from Kelly Middle and North High Schools will be offered exclusively to our Yujin Gakuen families at 5:00 PM on Tuesday February 21 at Kelly Middle School. This special event is offered just before our 6:00 PM school choice presentation, which some of our 5th grade families will also attend.

Kelly and North staff will be sharing our next steps to strengthen and to grow our YG Middle and YG High School offerings that you and your students will experience as participating members of your K-12 Yujin Gakuen program. Both schools will present information about the program and answer any questions you may have about continuing Yujin Gakuen with your students through the middle years and beyond.

Track Starting Soon
Track season will begin March 20. If you think your child might be interested in participating, please schedule a physical now. In order to be on the team students must have a physical that is no more than 2 years (dated no earlier than May 25, 2015). You can call the office if you need to check and see if we have a current physical on file for your student. Students can pick up the track packets in the office or you can download the forms from our website.

Please get your packets in as soon as possible as this helps us to know how many students we will have on the team. We are allocated coaches based on the number of students on the team, so the sooner you get your track packets in, the sooner we are able to secure coaching!

Recommended Walk Routes
The map below is a guide to help parents/guardians select a route for their student to walk to school where feasible. Recommended routes typically have sidewalks and protected street crossings, or use low-traffic neighborhood streets. You should preview the route with your child to ensure it is the safest route between your home and school, and teach your child to obey traffic safety rules along his/her route. Your school district and the applicable road authorities do not supervise the routes on this map and are not responsible for students while they travel to/from school. Comments or questions regarding this map can be directed to Point2point at 541-682-6213 or Point2 point@ltd.org.

Teen Heart Screening
Even teens who seem perfectly healthy may have hidden heart problems. Though the percentage is small, kids with undetected heart defects are at risk of sudden cardiac arrest.

A simple screening can detect heart conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the most common cause of sudden death in athletes. The next Teen Heart Screening is scheduled for February 25.
