We have received generous donations form Bi-Mart as well as community members. We are now ready to open the pantry. Please see the sign-up link to reserve a spot. Click Here to Sign Up.

We are offering after-school tutoring on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays after school. A certified teacher as well as high school volunteers will be available to help students. We will be reaching out to specific students and their families to invite them as an academic intervention. If your student is interested in attending, please contact the office so that we can add them to our list.

Available on ParentVue and StudentVue at 8:45 a.m. on January 29. Please note that small schedule changes could happen over the weekend. Final paper copies for students will be handed out on February 3 in Advisory.

ParentVue App: There has been a recent update to the app. if you are having trouble logging in, please go to the settings and change the URL by selecting the student’s district from a provided list; this process can be shortened by using the zip code search option. This update should fix the issue.

Families and students may be unable to access ParentVUE and StudentVUE due to a security update where 4J migrated Synergy, its student information system, to the cloud. 

Now that the migration is complete, parents and students will be prompted to reselect their student’s district from a provided list; this process can be shortened by using the zip code search option. 

We are looking for parent volunteers to help coordinate our upcoming Lotería Fundraiser! This is a fun way to support our school community, and we’d love your help with planning and organizing the event.

In alignment with the 4J School District Wellness Policy, food deliveries for students during lunch may not include soda or other sugar-sweetened beverages. Additionally, food deliveries must be made in person by a parent or guardian; deliveries from food delivery apps or third-party services are not permitted. These deliveries can be disruptive to the school environment. Families who wish to bring food for their student are welcome to eat with them in a designated alternate location. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in supporting a healthy and focused school community.

Repeated tardies over time will result in a parent meeting and the development of an attendance support plan to help the student be successful.

Students are planning a Val-O-Gram activity and fundraiser for Feb. 13. They are requesting donations of chocolate or other small candies to attach to the cards being sent out to students. They also need three adult volunteers to help monitor the tables from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Feb. 10-12. Please reach out if you are available to help.

When winter weather hits, schools may be closed or delayed or buses may use snow routes due to snow and ice. The school district decides early in the morning whether there is a need to change the school schedule or bus routes. These decisions are made districtwide and are the same for every 4J school.

Parents of students who ride school buses that have alternate snow routes have been informed of what to do. Snow route information is available on the snow routes page.

If school is in session, families are encouraged to consider road conditions in their areas and make their own decisions based on safety. Parents’ individual decisions about school attendance will be honored.

Kelly Middle School is looking for a new volunteer Mentor Coordinator. Our Middle School Lunchtime Mentoring Program supports at risk youth by partnering them with a Mentor for lunch once a week. Last year we had 112 students being Mentored in 4J each week. The Kelly Mentor Coordinator volunteers on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30, and does another 30 minutes of flexible communications during the week. Several of our staff and students react to fragrances in the environment at school. In the past, we have been a fragrance-free school to respect those staff and students who experience negative health reactions to fragrances in the environment.

Please speak with your student about NOT bringing ANY sprays to school and not using ANY spray products during the school day. This is a courtesy to others. We hope to have your support for a fragrance-free school environment for all staff and students.
