What a great night at Open House! Thank you to the many families who joined us on Tuesday night. It was awesome to see so many of you on campus—meeting teachers, connecting with staff, asking questions, and sharing ideas. 

If you weren’t able to make it last night, you can refer to the Open House slides HERE for more information about how we can partner together this year. 

Cross Country registration is still OPEN!  Register before September 30. 

Students must have a current sports physical on file. If your student has not had a physical within the last two years, please schedule one as soon as possible.

Registration Fee: $50

Payment is made through SchoolPay.

How are your students getting to school this year? 

Walking, biking, rolling, or riding the bus can be a great way to start the day with some movement and more independence. 

This year, we are asking that families contribute a $50 fee to help cover costs of student activities and field  trips this year. 

We understand that not every family can make this contribution, but if you are able to donate any amount you can do so by using either

 School Pay,  OR

Check or Cash in person at the Kelly office 

One SchoolPay account will access all of your students in 4j. Use school pay for sports, activities, and other donations. This year, fees include ASB, Band, Art, Sports, school merchandise, and general donations. 

 NORTH FEST — Friday, September 25 at North Eugene High School

North Fest is our fall Open House AND a chance to bring our entire North Region community together. Families from our feeder schools are welcome to come see North, meet staff, learn more about the high school experience, and then stick around for a community tailgate before our home football game!

Families can visit classrooms, meet teachers and staff, and attend special breakout sessions, including:

• Future & Current Freshmen Session — information for families preparing for the transition to high school

Then we’re taking the party outside! Join us before the home football game for:

 Face painting

 Lawn games

 Food trucks

 Highlander community fun

 And then stay to cheer on North at the football game!

You do NOT need to currently attend North Eugene High School to join us. We especially want our North Region students and families to feel welcome. Come get to know the school, meet our community, and see what being a Highlander is all about.

Open House: 4:30–6:00 PM

Tailgate: 5:30–7:00 PM

Home football game versus Churchill to follow

Seconds, extra milks, and other additional items are purchases and will be charged to the student’s meal account. We encourage families to talk with their students about the choices they would like them to make at school.

Breakfast:  $3.25

Lunch: $4.50

Milk: $1.00

Great News! Our Orchestra program will be fully grant-funded again this school year. We are thrilled to welcome back Director Lauralie Kallinen and look forward to seeing both new and returning students.

We appreciate the community support and enthusiasm for our North Eugene football games. However, there is a history of challenges related to student behavior, primarily from our younger attendees who often attend without parent supervision during the games. 

 Supervised Attendance for Middle School and Under Students:

To enhance safety and the overall experience for our younger community members, middle school-aged and under students are required to be accompanied by their parents or another responsible adult. We believe this measure will ensure that our younger fans have the guidance and support they need to enjoy the games responsibly. Students without their parents or another responsible adult will not be allowed into Friday Night Football Games. 

We value your support and participation in our community events, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming games. Let us come together to celebrate our local student athletes, build lasting connections, and ensure that these events remain a source of pride and unity for years to come. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to enhance the experience for all members of our community.

Fidgets such as Nee Doh's are becoming very popular at school. Fidgets can be helpful for many students to help them stay focused and possibly reduce anxiety. Unfortunately, they can also create issues at school when not used for their functional purpose. We have noticed students throwing them, breaking them open or cutting them open to expose the sticky inside, and also stealing from each other causing disruptions in classrooms and hallways. Other common toys at school such as stuffies and tech decks have also led to similar issues.

When a student is not using the fidget for its functional purpose or if causes a disruption to their learning or others at school, it will be confiscated by the staff member and brought to the office. A guardian can make arrangements to come pick up the item from the main office.

We realize that some students need sensory tools to be more successful, and we want to continue to support the individual needs of our students as much as possible. Please reinforce these expectations with your student.

Several of our staff and students react to fragrances in the environment at school. In the past, we have been a fragrance-free school to respect those staff and students who experience negative health reactions to fragrances in the environment.

Please speak with your student about NOT bringing ANY sprays to school and not using ANY spray products during the school day. This is a courtesy to others. We hope to have your support for a fragrance-free school environment for all staff and students.
